Pilates came into my life 13 years ago after I suffered a back injury and had spinal surgery. Very quickly I realised it’s benefits and it became a way of life enabling me to participate in many other activities, like running that I thought I wouldn’t be able to do again. I realized that, in order to sustain my active life and future proof my body to be a fit and healthy mum, I needed to build this form of movement therapy into my life permanently.
I hope to pass my knowledge and experience on to clients and guide them so that they too can gain not only strength and flexibility but also more body awareness and maybe even a love and passion for Pilates too.
In my spare time, I love to hang out with family and friends, walk my dogs and swim in the sea. I love running and cycling and a weekend away where I can do either one of these things with lovely friends is a joy.
I’m also a mindfulness practitioner, I’ve been practising for more than 4 years. I find it works amazingly alongside a movement system like Pilates. It’s another way of connecting with the body and mind that is accepting and kind. My teaching is done through the lens of mindfulness and sessions are client led. This is important when working with the body as, in my experience, clients know their bodies best. I’m always happy to finish sessions with a guided meditation, if that’s what clients want, some do and they love it!
